School Site Council

Delaine Eastin Elementary School

What is the School Site Council?

The school site council is a group of teachers, parents and school staff that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The members of the site council are generally elected by their peers. For example, parents elect the parent representatives and teachers elect teachers.

What the school site council does?

Site councils generally either make decisions or advise the principal and staff on the state allocated school improvement funds and the school’s improvement plan.

How can parents help with school improvement?

The best way to help your child with improving academic performance is to be involved. The Eastin Elementary School Site Council meets at 3:00 pm on the third Thursday of the month in the media center and is open to all parents or community members.
